Welcome.

I’m a writer based in London. I studied zoology as an undergraduate before receiving an MFA in fiction from NYU, where I was a WITS scholar and a finalist for the Axinn Foundation’s Doctorow prize, awarded to a graduating student of exceptional promise. I have recently completed a full-length manuscript set in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, where I grew up.

My fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Harper’s, n+1, Carve (Where it won the 2017 Raymond Carver Short Story Prize), and Psychopomp (Where it won the 2019 Short Story Prize). My essays and interviews have appeared in Esquire, Public Books, Guernica, and Broadly. I’ve also put in a few shifts for The New Yorker’s Briefly Noted.
